Two Noras: 1915 and 2023

My  paternal grandmother, Nora, was a great recorder of daily events. I have her daily notes from 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1918, 1919, 192...

Two Noras: July 6, 1914 and July 6, 2021

Nora Bauer: Monday, July 6 1914

Was pretty warm today. John & George were over this evening.

Nora Spitznogle: Tuesday, July 6, 2021

Met George and my siblings at Farm this morning. Work after.

I've been trying to sort out who John and George are. There is Grandma Nora's cousin John, of course. And her beau Paul has a brother George, but the two are not related to each other.

And they don't have to be related...maybe they are just friends named John and George.

Speaking of George, Cousin George met us at the Farm his morning to go over Dad's will and next steps.

When Dad and I went at Rosemary's funeral you might remember that I wore Great-Aunt Mamie's coat. I tried to get Dad to wear his Grandfather Felix's (Nora's dad) coat, but it was too heavy for him. Dad and I discussed it and he decided to to pass it along to his nephew, George.

It fits George perfectly!

Of course, going over the will was sad and painful, but he had spelled everything out. And it comforting to have someone that knew and loved Dad is shepherding us through this.
