Was to church this afternoon and Susie and Helen were there. We all went to riverside park. Claude Marvin called up. Wanted to make a date with me. Of course I didn't. Paul and I went driving.

Worked downtown at Second Helpings today - I was the early manager and arrived at 6:30. Traffic was terrible - construction - on the way to meet Schaun and Kassie at Harry and Izzy's. Cried over the dessert special. Uggh.
I'm assuming that Helen is Helen Minneman, but I haven't stumbled across a clue of who Susie might be. Riverside Park is one of the oldest parks in Logansport. The Claude Marvin tidbit is exciting! I wonder if she told Paul about it on their drive?
Poor Claude blew his fingernail off the July 4th the year before.
The next mention I could find was when he was arrested for intoxication in 1921.
He was mentioned in a where-are-they-now piece in the 1938 paper.
I had a frustrating drive from downtown to 86th Street. I do not enjoy driving at all, especially with all of the construction. I was late meeting Schaun and Kassie for our every-other-Monday dinner. We went to the slightly high-brow Harry & Izzy's - great food and fancy cocktails.
Between exhaustion and grief, I'm on edge. When the waitress described the dessert special - bread pudding topped with a Woodford Reserve glaze - I started crying. Bread pudding was a favorite of Dad's and he was a fan of Woodford Reserve - I wish I would have known about this, I would have taken them there.
Inexplicably I was out of tissues. The waitress brought me some bev naps from the bar. Uggh.
