Two Noras: 1915 and 2023

My  paternal grandmother, Nora, was a great recorder of daily events. I have her daily notes from 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1918, 1919, 192...

Two Noras: May 1, 1914 and May 1, 2021

Nora Bauer: Friday, May 1, 1914
Mama and I went up town to buy a dress for myself and I took it down to the dress makers tonight. We were down to Uncle John.

Whirlwind day traveling to West Lafayette to visit Molly with Mom, Dad, and J.R., quick nap before work at the Red Key, busy evening including two old boyfriends.
I love it when Grandma Nora mentions her mama. She still hasn't referenced her papa. Barbara Rosfeld Bauer would have been 51 and Nora 19 that day. How fun to have a new dress!

My day was jam-packed with activities and fun. I picked Mom up and we drove to the Farm and jumped in J.R.'s vehicle. We were off to visit Molly in West Lafayette. She met us at Triple XXX for breakfast - I had a delicious burger. It was so wonderful to see Molly (my niece, J.R.'s daughter, Mom and Dad's granddaughter)! We took a little driving tour of campus and Molly's sorority house - no visitors allowed due to the pandemic.

The adventure started because it was the day we could pick up the cut-out I'd given Dad for Christmas - it was sitting in the stands at Mackey Arena for the Purdue basketball season.

By the time I got back to Indianapolis, I had just enough time to take a nice nap before my Red Key shift. It was a fun surprise to see Uncle Philip (Mom's younger brother) there.

The evening was busy (yay!). Both Joe, a long-ago beau that now lives in California with his darling family, and Schaun were in this evening. I was grateful to have a reason to keep moving!
