Two Noras: 1915 and 2023

My  paternal grandmother, Nora, was a great recorder of daily events. I have her daily notes from 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1918, 1919, 192...

Two Noras: June 10, 1914 and June 10, 2021

Nora Bauer: Wednesday, June 10, 1914

Ruth Yeakley and Chas. Rush were married this evening. They are going to live with his parents.

Nora Spitznogle: Thursday, June 10, 2021

Worked downtown today - the usual sort of day with meetings and such. Several of us worked late.

Grandma had a little kerfuffle with her postings and wrote across the pages instead of down. I wonder if she was faithfully writing each day or writing in batches? I've done both.

My favorite is when I've had time to transcribe her words and already have it in a template. How often does that happen? Not often enough.

At first I used to freak out if I wasn't posting on the actual day. Now I give myself a grace period and allow myself to catch up and do some research.

I just realized that the bride's new name is Ruth Rush? I don't know what that makes me giggle, but it sure does!

I couldn't find any newspaper mentions of Ruth Yeakley and Nora together. I did find a few society page blurbs where Ruth was at the same party as my maternal great-aunts and uncles. How fun is that?

My day wasn't nearly as exciting. I worked and then worked some more cleaning the small warehouse and moving things to the outside storage for our expansion project.
